Wearing a face covering will be mandatory at services from 8 August

Wear a face cover at funeral services from 8 August

From 8 August the list of places where the wearing of a face covering will be mandatory is being expanded and includes crematoria and burial ground chapels. As such, if you are attending a service from tomorrow (Saturday 8 August) will you be required to wear a face covering, unless you have a legitimate reason not to.

Amended guidance from the government about wearing a face covering is expected to be published shortly so please stay up to date on the government website.

It is important to note that the wearing of face coverings does not replace the need for continued adherence to guidance on other measures for controlling the spread of the coronavirus, such as minimum 2m distancing where possible and good hand hygiene.

Please refer to our previous updates to see other current measures in place at our cemetery and crematorium. Thank you for your understanding.
